Visiting a Simi Valley dentist such as Dr. Harmik Hartounian for the first time is always a positive experience. At Dental Center of Simi Valley, we provide patients with comprehensive dental care solutions. We understand that many patients are uneasy about visiting the dentist due to past negative experiences or a fear of the “unknown.” We work closely with patients to ensure they are comfortable throughout their appointment regardless of what is being done during the visit.
What to expect on your first visit
When patients are visiting the Dental Center of Simi Valley for the first time, they need to be sure to bring any dental insurance paperwork with them. Several forms should be completed upon arrival which will be given by our friendly front office staff. Once patients have completed these forms and are sent back to see the dentist, they can discuss their dental concerns with Dr. Harmik Hartounian. Whether patients are seeking dental assistance for a specific concern or just want to undergo an initial examination and cleaning with our staff, we can help!
All of our appointments begin with a physical examination. This may also include x-rays if the dentist believes there is an underlying condition present. X-rays can also be used to determine if patients are appropriate candidates for certain procedures such as the placement of dental implants for replacing missing teeth. Patients visiting the dentist for their first appointment may also have a thorough cleaning performed by our dental hygienists. This removes plaque and tartar from the surfaces of the teeth.
Patients who require additional assistance for their oral health can schedule their visits with the dentist before they leave the practice. We also encourage patients to book their six month recall appointments at the same time to ensure they have it “on the books” and are proactive about their oral health and wellness.
